Units from Spring Garden, McCord’s and Polk County Fire Departments all responded to a report of a structure fire on County Road 8 in the Tecumseh Community near the state line Wednesday afternoon around 1:00 pm. According to Spring Garden Fire Chief Larry Peek their Truck 8 was the first to arrive on the scene and immediately reported that the structure was fully involved. Firefighters initiated a defensive fire attack, hauled water from a nearby hydrant, and remained on scene for about 4 hours. The exact cause of the blaze is still undetermined. No one was injured in the mishap.
