Authorities in Haleyville revealed the cause Friday of a house fire that killed a woman and two children Monday morning.
Haleyville Fire Marshal Jeff Postell said fire crews responded to a structure fire with possible entrapments at 2915 11th Avenue around 3:30 a.m. Monday. Postell said the structure was a single-family wood frame residence. At the scene, additional manpower was requested due to heavy fire conditions and crews from Pebble Fire/Rescue and Bear Creek Fire/Rescue responded.
When firefighters entered the residence, 44-year-old Cara Evans, 8-year-old Anna Belle Evans and 4-year-old Jacob Evans were found dead.
According to a GoFundMe account set up by extended family, Ricky Evans, the father and husband, was at work at the time of the fire.
