One person is dead and two people recovering in the hospital after an early-morning fire on Tudortop Circle in the Campbell Park neighborhood of Anchorage. The Anchorage Fire Department says neighbors reported the fire about 3:30 a.m. AFD captain Nathen Ellis said at the scene that three people had been taken to the hospital. “When the first units got on scene, we had a large amount of fire. Both houses on each side were also burning. So crews deployed a lot of their resources and their energies to keeping the other homes from burning as well. And also extinguishing the main fire.” Ellis said. Ellis said it took about an hour and a half to get the fire under control. "Making sure that people are out of the home and also going inside of the homes to try to pull people out that are stuck inside. So that was the biggest challenge for this fire," Ellis said. Just after noon, AFD Fire Marshal Cleo Hill said one of the injured people had died.
