VIDEO/PHOTOS: The annual Miami Valley Antique Fire Apparatus Show was held on Saturday, August 31. This was the fifth year the show was held at Carillon Historical Park. It is hosted by the Miami Valley Antique Fire Apparatus Association (MVAFAA). Over 30 pieces of firefighting antiques displayed 150 years of firefighting history. The antiques are privately owned by members of the club.
“There are individuals that own large-scale fire trucks, who own ladder wagons, horse-drawn hose carts, small fire equipment and ephemera, all kinds of things. They’re a great group of people,” said Vice President of Museum Operations Alex Heckman. The MVAFAA club’s history of holding the show is over 25 years long; previously the show was in Germantown.
