A Clarksville auto shop was destroyed by a fire Thursday afternoon, according to fire officials. Clarksville Fire Chief Brandon Skaggs said crews were called around 2:45 p.m. to Appeleaf Lane about a structure fire.
A witness on the scene said the building was an auto repair shop.
Skaggs said firefighters arrived in about 5 minutes, and the building was fully engulfed, with flames going through every window and door. There were three Clarksville fire crews and two from New Albany, along with Tri-Township crews to help put out the flames.
Skaggs said there wasn't a hydrant near the business, so they had to shuttle water from the local department.
Skaggs said the building and everything inside was a total loss, but no injuries were reported.
An employee told WLKY that there were three vehicles inside the building, along with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equipment.
