VIDEOS: On Sept. 8, 1994, 132 people were killed in what is the deadliest air disaster in Pennsylvania's history: The crash of USAir Flight 427. On this edition of Chronicle, we looked back at rarely seen video from the years-long investigation and spoke with the lead investigator who provided exclusive new insights into the crash. Families shared memories of the loved ones they lost and we share the untold stories of those at the site who helped that day. Three decades after the disaster of Flight 427, we’re still learning more about the people who jumped into action to help on that fateful day: the firefighters from Hopewell Township Volunteer Fire Department, the man who would one day become the chief for Pittsburgh’s Bureau of Fire and a USAir employee who raced to the scene from his home.
