We have learned more details regarding a massive fire that broke out on Saturday in Jackson. As of Monday morning, the huge fire that occurred at the Mississippi Tire Recycling building located at East McDowell Road and Parcel Drive still burns.
Jackson Fire Assistant Chief Patrick Armon said firefighters are still actively trying to put out the blaze.
He says that 10 alarms went off when the fire began, meaning around 10 units responded to the scene to get the blaze under control. Since Saturday, he says at least one or two firetrucks have been at the scene every minute.
Armon also said that crews have been using hydrants since Saturday, but due to a water main break, firefighters were reduced to using the water on their firetrucks Sunday evening.
