VIDEO: A key piece of equipment that firefighters rely on to protect them is their hose. The Pennsylvania State Fire Commission got a behind-the-scenes look at how they’re made.
A local company is preparing firefighters for their toughest battles.
After being globally recognized for its test trials and advancement of innovation, Pennsylvania State Fire Commissioner Thomas Cook made a visit to Snap-tite Hose.
Snap-tite is a manufacturer of “industry-leading quality” fire hoses with locations in Union City and Fairview. The commissioner and other local leaders took a tour and viewed demonstrations of their heat-resistant product.
“It all starts when we receive it because we will actually look at the material to see if there are any visual issues with it. As you’re going through each process, for example, taking our yarn and putting it into our looms, there’s a process where we test it,” said James Novinsky, CEO of Snap-Tite Hose.
