PHOTOS: Hernando County firefighters put out a blaze that spread through a home Tuesday night, causing the roof to collapse. Crews responded to the home on Florentine Court in Spring Hill and found heavy flames coming from the garage area.
Firefighters worked to control it, but the flames spread through the attic, according to a post by the agency on Wednesday morning. They were able to get it under control within 30 minutes. Pictures from the department show the fire coming out of the roof, and it scorched after. No injuries were reported, and the only person inside the home was able to safely escape before the crews got there. The blaze is under investigation, but preliminary indications suggest lithium-ion batteries are a potential cause.
