Cheyenne Fire Rescue investigates cause of Ridge Road fire

Cheyenne Fire Rescue continues to investigate the cause of a structure fire in the 4300 block of Ridge Road that occurred on Sept. 11, 2025.

The fire was reported at 10:26 p.m. Thursday evening with units dispatched at 10:27 p.m. Firefighters arrived on scene at 10:32 p.m. and found heavy fire showing on the front side of a single-story structure with heavy smoke and window staining affecting half of the building. The fire was brought under control at 10:41 p.m.

Battalion Chief 1, along with Engines 1, 4, 5, 6, Ladder 1, and Support units responded to the emergency. Upon arrival, crews determined that all occupants had safely evacuated the structure. A rapid transitional attack was initiated from the front of the building after Engine 5 conducted a comprehensive size-up and 360-degree assessment.

The incident presented unique operational challenges as the structure had been added onto approximately three to four times, creating a three-unit complex that was not easily identifiable. Search crews noted that access to various locations was complicated due to ongoing renovations, with ingress and egress points below standard. Despite these challenges, crews effectively handled the situation and worked safely and efficiently. No injuries from civilians or firefighters were reported.

Three separate renting parties were displaced due to smoke and fire damage. The estimated property loss totaled $199,654, with the structure’s original value assessed at $425,753. Assistance from outside agencies included Laramie County Combined Communications Center, the Cheyenne Police Department, American Medical Response, and Black Hills Energy.
