The Southern Ozaukee Fire Department has appointed Nick Boehlke as its next deputy chief. According to SOFD, Boehlke began his fire service career in 2004 as a paid-on-call firefighter with the Mequon Fire Department. Since then, he has served in a wide range of leadership roles, including firefighter/EMT, motor pump operator, lieutenant, acting battalion chief, and most recently, full-time deputy chief for the Menomonee Falls Fire Department.
Boehlke led both the EMS and Training bureaus through a period of significant organizational change while in Menomonee Falls, with his leadership focused on four key areas: training and education, EMS service delivery, community partnerships and employee wellness. Among his many accomplishments, he implemented a comprehensive training and paramedic curriculum, launched a licensed Mobile Integrated Health program, and established a Health and Performance Division to support the physical and mental well-being of department personnel, according to SOFD.
