VIDEOS: A memorial service was held on May 4 near the Hoan Bridge in Milwaukee to honor Wisconsin firefighters who lost their lives in 2024. May 3-4 is also National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend. The Milwaukee Fire Department and Light the Hoan partnered with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to honor and remember MFD firefighter Doran Kemp II and active-duty engineer and paramedic Tyler Kreiter of the Green Bay Metro Fire Department. Fire Chief Aaron Lipski of the Milwaukee Fire Department, Fire Chief Matthew Knott of the Green Bay Metro Fire Department, family members of the fallen firefighters and others all gathered near the bridge Sunday night. There, a reading of their service history, a moment of silence, and a prayer were all held before the Hoan bridge was lit in red.
