Green Bay Metro Fire honors lieutenant on 19th anniversary of his line-of-duty death

PHOTOS: The Green Bay Metro Fire Department is paying tribute to one of their own on the anniversary of his line-of-duty death. Wednesday marked 19 years since the house fire that claimed the life of Lt. Arnie Wolff.

On Aug. 13, 2006, Wolff and his fellow crew members responded to a blaze on Edgewood Drive. Officials say Wolff and firefighter Jo Brinkley-Chaudoir entered the burning home to perform search and rescue. Within seconds, part of the first floor collapsed and the pair fell into the basement, which was fully engulfed in flames. During the collapse, a dividing wall in the basement separated Wolff and Brinkley-Chaudoir. Brinkley-Chaudoir fell into a room with windows and was able to be rescued, although she suffered hip and rib fractures and burn injuries.
