VIDEO/PHOTO: A spill of pool supply acid was contained Monday morning in Middleton, fire officials confirmed. Multiple crews responded Monday morning to 7607 Discovery Drive, the location of Midwest Pool Supply.
A Middleton Fire Department Hazmat Team and Middleton Fire Department were on the scene. Middleton Fire Department confirmed 300 gallons of pool supply acid spilled. Firefighters said they used baking soda to counteract the spill. The building next door was evacuated because of the spill. No injuries were reported. Police shut down both lanes of Discovery Drive from Parmenter Street to Deming Way, Middleton Police Department said in an update on Facebook. The road reopened a little after 4:30 p.m. Monday. Middleton PD added there was no threat to the public.
