Firefighter injured in mobile home fire on Eau Claire’s east side

One firefighter sustained an injury while battling a mobile home fire that caused $50,000 in damage Sunday night on Eau Claire’s east side. The Eau Claire Fire Department responded to 4400 La Salle Street shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday following reports of smoke and flames coming from a mobile home, according to department officials.

Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the front and side of the structure. Firefighters entered the home and successfully extinguished the blaze.

A search of the mobile home revealed no one was inside at the time of the fire. One firefighter received an unspecified injury during the response, the Eau Claire Fire Department said.

The fire caused approximately $50,000 in damage to the structure. Fire officials continue to investigate the area of origin and cause of the blaze.
