VIDEO: First responders were called to the Rockland Park apartment complex in East De Pere on Sunday night after lightning struck the building. The call came in around 7 p.m. after witnesses said they heard a loud boom during Sunday nightโs storms and could smell electrical burning.
De Pere fire crews quickly worked with WPS to turn the power off. While there were people at home during the strike, officials say no one was injured and that several people had self-evacuated. A hole was found in the roof where the lightning had struck the building. Fire crews confirmed there was no smoke or flames in any of the apartments.
