Two firefighters were briefly trapped under a partially collapsed ceiling while fighting a fire at Millennium Technologies, a cylinder plating machine shop in Plymouth. The Plymouth Fire Department responded to a fire at quarter after 11 Sunday morning with reports of chemicals stored inside the building.
Eleven more fire departments responded when mutual aid was requested due to the conditions and the size of the building. At 12:21, a Mayday was broadcast when the firefighters became trapped. They were quickly located. They were given medical evaluations on-site and reported no serious injuries. The cause of the fire is officially undetermined, but the Sheboygan County Fire Investigation Team suspects there was an electrical issue in the break room area. All of the hazardous materials were secured without incident.
