Wildfires spread across Florida Panhandle due to dry conditions

The current dry conditions have led to many fires recently in the Panhandle.

According to the Florida Forest Service, in Washington County, a wildfire near Rex Circle is burning 5 acres and is 90% contained.

A fire on Rock Hill Church Road is also burning 6 and a half acres with 75% containment.

Calhoun County has a 10-acre wildfire, currently the biggest one in our area, and itโ€™s 75% contained.

In Bay County, the Florida Forest Service says a wildfire on Brandon Road is at 5 acres and is 80% contained.

Jackson County, which saw multiple fires on Friday, has one still active as of Saturday on Pond Lane. That one is 3.5 acres and is 75% contained.

In Holmes County, one wildfire on Eagle Lane is currently 4 acres and is 90% contained.

Containment numbers are accurate as of 5 p.m. Saturday, according to the Florida Forest Service.
