Guam Police Department says man died from auto-pedestrian crash in Upper Tumon

PHOTOS: Police identified Lloyd Dylon Escullar Halina, 26, as the victim of Monday nightโ€™s fatal auto-pedestrian crash on Marine Corps Drive near Happy Landing Road in Upper Tumon. Halina died after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Route 1 outside of a crosswalk on the night of June 30, the Guam Police Department said on Tuesday. At 9:18 p.m., Guam Highway Patrol Division officers responded to the crash scene. According to preliminary reports, Halina had been standing on the raised cement median of Route 1 when he stepped into the middle lane and was hit by a passing vehicle, GPD stated.

Halina was then transported by Medic 3 to Guam Regional Medical City in Dededo, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. The vehicle was later impounded at the GPD lot as part of the investigation. Halinaโ€™s next of kin has been notified. โ€œThe Guam Police Department offers its sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Halina,โ€ GPD stated. This is the 13th traffic fatality since January 2025, based on GPDโ€™s count.
