Saipan: Fire guts single-story tin house in San Vicente

The Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to a fire at a single-story tin house in San Vicente on Friday evening after a female caller reported the incident. DFEMS public information officer Robert Mojica said the call was made at 9:10 p.m. Fire personnel arrived at 9:22 p.m. and found the house fully engulfed in flames, with no occupants inside. โ€œTwo teams entered the home to quickly extinguish the fire. At 9:27 p.m., Captain A. Farley reported to dispatch that the fire was under control,โ€ Mojica said.

Fire Prevention and Arson Investigation investigators J. San Nicolas and K. Kileleman assessed the scene and reported: โ€œInitial investigation revealed that the single-story tin structure sustained major fire damage. Fire patterns indicated the area of origin was on the north side of the interior. The structure had no electrical connection except for a solar floodlight. The fire did not spread to the adjacent property due to spacing between the property lines.โ€
