The Department of Public Health and Social Services donated a wide range of new pediatric emergency medical equipment worth about $10,000 to the Guam Fire Department. This donation, from DPHSSโ Health Professional Licensing Office and Emergency Medical Services, represents an unwavering commitment to enhancing the capacity of first responders โto deliver the highest standard of care to our youngest, most vulnerable patients, from neonates to adolescents,โ Public Health said in a release.
The donation was made possible through federal funding under the Emergency Medical Services for Children grant, which aims to improve emergency care for infants and children across Guam. Breanna B.F. Sablan, acting Health Professional Licensing/EMS administrator of Public Health, said the program is proud of the formal donation and transfer of specialized pediatric medical supplies and critical equipment to GFD, which she said is an โessential partner in providing emergency care to the islandโs children.โ
