Nearly a dozen people rescued from Greenbrier County cave

Nearly a dozen people had to be rescued from a cave in Greenbrier County on Saturday night.

Frankford firefighters said they were called to an area near Vago Road about 8:15 p.m. Saturday for nine people who were trapped 2,500 feet into a cave.

Firefighters, as well as two cave rescue teams, were able to locate and successfully rescue everyone involved. Greenbrier County dispatchers said one person suffered minor injuries, but was not taken to a hospital.

Dispatchers said the cave was not among those frequented by tourists in the area.
