VIDEO: The fire that rocked a neighborhood in St. Albans early Sunday morning resulted in a firefighter needing medical attention. The fire was reported at 4:18 a.m. when neighbors called 911 after hearing a scream and a loud boom, then seeing the house at 337 W Main St. engulfed in flames. Alicia Fields was getting up from bed to use the bathroom when she heard the explosive boom and what sounded like something hitting her house. She dialed 911 after her father-in-law exclaimed that the house across the street was burning. Fire departments from around the area responded promptly to the scene with a difficult fight ahead of them. Fields said that sparks began raining down in all directions after the flames spread to power lines from the house. As the fire raged, she noticed possible injuries while the firefighters battled.
