Fire reported at Walker Chevrolet dealership in Nitro

VIDEO/PHOTOS: A fire broke out at the Walker Chevrolet dealership in Nitro Tuesday evening.

Metro 911 told 13 News the fire was reported at the car dealership on 1st Avenue around 8:30 p.m.

The Nitro Fire Department said 3-4 parked vehicles were fully engulfed in front of the building on arrival. The fire spread to the outside of the building in the main entrance area before sprinklers stopped the fire from spreading to the inside.

The fire was officially put out around 9:30 p.m.

The fire department said the inside of the building suffered smoke damage, but the structure itself is believed to be intact. No injuries were reported.

There is no cause for the fire at this time, but an investigation is underway. Fire departments from Kanawha, Putnam and Lincoln counties were on scene alongside members of Kanawha EMS, Putnam EMS, Nitro Police and the Putnam County Sheriffโ€™s Department.
