‘You treated this rescue like it mattered:’ Roslyn Community rallies to save dog in crevasse

PHOTOS: There’s the saying, “it takes a village,” and in the case of a dog named Coulee, there was no shortage of people willing to help after she got into a precarious situation on Sunday. Paige and Seth Graham said they were on a walk with Coulee in the Roslyn Urban Forest when the dog disappeared in seconds. After searching everywhere, they realized Coulee had plummeted about 20 feet down a crevasse.

“We had no sound, no sight, and no idea if we were going to get her out or what condition sheโ€™d be in if we did. She spent 7 hours down there in freezing meltwater, and it was a race against time,” Paige Graham wrote on her Facebook page.

“What happened next was nothing short of unbelievable. Friends jumped in to help immediately and then we were joined by all different teams. Countless amazing people came together to save one little dog. The coordination, the skill, the teamwork Iโ€™m still in awe,” the post from Coulee’s Roslyn family said. “Cou is incredibly tough โ€” but today proved something else: our community is even tougher. We are so lucky to live in a place where first responders and volunteers show up like this.”
