PHOTOS: A mill in Tacoma is burning in a devastating fire that started late Sunday night. Johnsonโs Millworks is along South Tacoma Way just north of Interstate 5. Photos captured by a KOMO News photographer showed large flames coming through the roof, and later the building was enveloped by fire. A Tacoma Fire Department (TFD) battalion chief said the fire has been difficult to fight because itโs burning below ground level, and firefighters are unable to access it. Windy conditions are also fueling the flames.
