One found dead inside Everett apartment following fire

Firefighters made a grim discovery when they entered an Everett apartment for a fire. At 8:25 a.m. Monday, Everett Fire Department crews were called to the Woodhaven Apartments, at 4604 Fowler Avenue, for a report of smoke coming from a unit and the sound of a smoke alarm.

Firefighters went inside to find the apartment full of smoke and found a victim inside. Crews extinguished the fire while other firefighters worked to save the victimโ€™s life, but the person could not be revived. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
