Kennewick home destroyed in fire, two firefighters treated for heat exhaustion

VIDEO: A home owner is suffering from burns to his face and arms, and two firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion, after a house caught fire in Benton County. The property owner was able to evacuate with two dogs prior to crews arriving this morning, but a firefighter rescued a third dog when they got there, according to the Benton County Fire District #1. The homeowner declined treatment at the scene for his burns, but was transported away in a personal vehicle. The fire, which started shortly before 7 a.m., was under control shortly before 8 a.m., but the house was destroyed, according to BCFD#1. A downed power line blocked main access to the property, and Benton PUD de-energized the line.
