The Granger Fire Department is getting a big boost thanks to a $10,000 grant from an insurance agency. State Farm announced $1.5 million in grant money that would go to 150 volunteer fire departments all over the United States on August 18. In Washington, one of the volunteer fire departments that received a $10,000 share of that grant money was Granger Fire Department. In total, the department has received nearly $20,000 in grants so far in 2025. Officials said the money will go towards new firefighting equipment that is sorely needed. That equipment includes personal protective equipment, communication tools and rescue equipment. Fire officials said theyโre grateful for the support, and that many other local departments are in need of similar funding.
