Car crashes into Kirkland grocery store: One person killed, others severely injured

VIDEO/PHOTOS: A car drove through the Grocery Outlet in Kirkland’s Bridle Trails Shopping Center on Sunday afternoon, prompting an emergency response. Police and rescue crews were called to 6625 132nd Ave NE shortly before 2 p.m. KOMO News crews on the scene captured footage of the car, which seemed to have crashed directly through the front doors of the grocery store. Collapsed shelving and debris could be seen on top of the vehicle and scattered around it. According to Kirkland Public Safety, the driver who crashed the car is elderly. Three bystanders, 2 women and one youth, were injured in the crash, as was the driver of the car. One of the bystanders died en-route to the hospital, and the surviving victims reportedly have very serious injuries. The Kirkland Police Department is investigating the crash.
