2nd annual Dog Walk held to honor Chesterfield County firefighter who died three years ago

PHOTOS: The 2nd annual Dog Walk in honor of the Chesterfield Fire and EMS firefighter who died while off duty in 2022 was held on Saturday. 41-year-old firefighter Alicia Monahan died while conducting a safety course for students in North Carolina at the Nantahala River on Saturday, June 25, 2022. The event was held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, at the Chesterfield County Animal Services at 9300 Public Works Road, nearly three years after her death. Attendees were encouraged to come out and help honor Monahan by walking a dog in her memory โ€” whether with your own pet or walking with a Chesterfield shelter animal. Monahan was a part of the Clover Hill Fire Station and provided more than 11 years of service to Chesterfield County Fire & EMS. During that time, she helped recover a body from the Swift Creek Reservoir.
