Human-caused wildfire extinguished after burning over 3 acres in Sand Hollow State Park

PHOTOS: Crews extinguished a wildfire within hours of its start after it spread several acres in Sand Hollow State Park in Southern Utah. Hurricane Valley Fire & Rescue crews responded to reports of a brush fire at the state park just before 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Officials said they “encountered a large brush fire burning inside the State Park,” and began attacking the flames. The fire spread to about 3.5 acres before it was extinguished several hours later. Officials said the fire was human-caused and that someone was cited for their role in igniting the blaze. They did not specify the exact cause of the fire.
