PHOTOS: A fire destroyed a two-story home early Saturday morning around 1 a.m. while a family was out of town. Orange Fire Department and Orange County Emergency Services District 3 responded to the fire in the 3000 block of North 14th Street after a passerby spotted the flames and called 911. The passerby broke into the house to check for occupants, but was forced back by the intensity of the flames. The family was out of town when the fire happened, according to a family member who came to the scene and spoke with our 12News photojournalist. The house is considered a total loss and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
