Round Rock Isd Bus Struck in Fiery Crash

PHOTOS: A Round Rock ISD bus was struck Thursday morning after two cars collided, with one of the vehicles catching fire, district officials said.

The crash happened at 8:19 a.m. at the intersection of West Louis Henna Boulevard and County Road 172, according to the Round Rock Fire Department.

The bus driver evacuated eight students after one of the vehicles hit the bus and then caught fire, further damaging the bus, the district said in a letter sent to families. The students had already been evacuated by the time crews arrived.

“Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, declaring it out at 8:28 a.m.,” the fire department said.

Paramedics evaluated all students and the driver at the scene. One student required medical attention and was released to family, while the remaining students were cleared to return to campus, the district said. An adult from one of the other vehicles was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
