Round Rock will be getting a new fire station after city council approved a design contract this week. Fire Station 11 will be built near Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital at A.W. Grimes and University Boulevard. The $10.5 million project is the third station funded by voter-approved bonds from 2023. The station will include a unique feature: an 800-square-foot police satellite office with a separate entrance. This gives officers a smaller location to work and collaborate. McKinney York Architects secured the $372,000 design contract with the city. It’s the same firm that designed the city’s other two new fire stations.
