VIDEO/PHOTOS: Brazos County Emergency Services District No. 2 has a new leader at the helm. Tradd Mills was officially hired as fire chief during the boardโs regular meeting Tuesday evening. Mills brings nearly three decades of fire service experience to the position, including time in South Carolina and Arizona.
Mills recently served as a firefighter with multiple leadership roles within the College Station Fire Department. He also served as the College Station Emergency Management Coordinator & Brazos County COVID-19 Vaccination Task Force Incident Commander.
โItโs been a life goal of mine,โ Mills told KBTX during his first day on the job. โIโve strived since day one to be the best, and now I want to be a really good chief, not just for myself, but to serve the people of Brazos County ESD No. 2.โ Mills said the first day met all of his expectations and described the experience as โfun, exciting and rewarding.โ His appointment was approved unanimously by the board, with family and friends supporting him in the audience. Brazos County ESD No. 2 serves more than 4,400 residents across 132 square miles in rural areas northeast of Bryan.
