Nearly $500,000 in property loss was reported after two fires in Amarillo Tuesday afternoon. The Amarillo Fire Department responded to a two-alarm structure fire at a commercial storage facility located at 1550 Bell Street at 3:50 p.m. on Tuesday. Officials say the initial crews encountered heavy smoke and difficulty identifying the precise fire location due to the size and layout of the building. AFD says the response included coordinated water supply efforts, forcible entry into multiple storage units and aerial operations for containment. Officials say there were no reported injuries. Estimated property loss is $300,000 with an additional $15,000 in content losses. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Amarillo Fire Marshalโs Office.
