VIDEO/PHOTOS: Lubbock Fire Rescue responded to a call for a reported grass fire near the 1600 block of 44th St. When Fire Engine 8 first arrived on the scene, crews found a fire on the side of a house that was spreading to the backyard. According to a social media post by LFR, crews fought the fire from the inside of the home then found downed power lines in the backyard. LFR says LP&L responded quickly to shut power off to the lines, allowing crews to contain the fire. According to the post, no one was injured in the fire but occupants were displaced from the home. The American Red Cross is helping those displaced.
