VIDEO: Klein firefighters spent Tuesday morning going house to house in the Memorial Estates and Theisswood Estates neighborhoods, checking on residents and helping clear debris after powerful storms caused widespread damage across northwest Harris County. KHOU 11โs Ugochi Iloka rode behind the Klein Fire Department as crews assessed damage and spoke with homeowners still dealing with the aftermath.
One of the homes they checked had a large hole in the roof after a tree crashed through it. Firefighters drove through neighborhoods and stopping to assist residents with cleanup efforts.
In several spots, large branches and pieces of fencing were blocking homes and roads, and firefighters helped move debris so residents could safely get in and out. The district fire chief and a Klein fire captain said that after a major storm, responding to calls isnโt the only priority โ sometimes the most important work is simply helping neighbors get back on their feet.
