VIDEO: Crews have contained a large grass fire in North Texas, officials announced. Smoke could be seen billowing up from the fire in the Canyon Falls area north of FM 1171 and west of U.S. 377. The Flower Mound Fire Department confirmed Thursday that crews contained the fire. Firefighters remained on the scene to continue to put out hot spots. FMFD estimated that roughly 100 acres were affected by the blaze. FM 1171 was closed at U.S. 377, but that roadway has since reopened, per the department. FMFD said there have been no injuries or evacuations at this time.
