Crews battle large fire at vacant house in north Austin, no injuries reported

VIDEO/PHOTOS: Austin Fire Department crews responded to a structure fire at a vacant house in north Austin on Tuesday morning, officials said. The fire was reported at 1607 W. Parmer Lane at 7:25 a.m., according to online records. Firefighters found extensive flames throughout the house when they arrived and immediately shifted to defensive mode operations, AFD said.

Video taken by CBS Austin shows billowing smoke throughout the air and several units on scene. No injuries were reported, and no one was believed to be inside the home at the time of the fire.

Officials confirmed the residence was vacant with no known occupants. Multiple units remained on scene working to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
