VIDEO: An official recognition came at Tuesday’s City Council meeting for Corpus Christi Fire Department Chief Brandon Wade. Gov. Greg Abbott appointed Wade to the Texas Commission on Fire Protection in September 2024. Since then, he has completed the term, and was re-appointed to the role permanently. At council, Wade thanked everyone for their support. “The nomination was through the Texas Fire Chiefs’ Association,” he said. “They get to nominate, so I was one of their nominations to the governor for that appointment, so thank you.” He will work to enhance the Texas Fire Service by assisting with certification, training, and safety for firefighters as part of the commission, as well as taking care of local communities and the state, as a whole.
