VIDEO: One person was airlifted to a burn center after a house fire on Ash Street in Bristol, Tennessee on Wednesday. A spokesperson for the City of Bristol, Tennessee told News Channel 11 that dispatch received a Life Alert notification and 911 call reporting a structure fire just before 11:30 a.m.
โThe victim had exited their home with their clothing still engulfed in flame and ran to a neighboring unit for help,โ the spokesperson said in an email to News Channel 11. โThe neighbor quickly assisted by advising the victim to stop, drop, and roll, which extinguished the flames on their clothes.โ
The fire was quickly brought under control, and all damage was confined to the original unit where the fire started, the spokesperson stated.
โThe victim was airlifted to a burn center for treatment,โ the spokesperson said. โThe helicopter landed at the Tennessee High School track, which is the closest location to the scene where they could safely land.โ
No information was available on the victimโs extent of injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
