No injuries reported after condo fire, Knoxville Fire Department says

VIDEO/PHOTOS: The Knoxville Fire Department says they responded to a condominium fire at 12:23 a.m. on Tuesday morning. KFD says the Knox County Emergency Communications District received a 911 call from a female saying her condominium was on fire. KFD says they found a heavy fire on the front side of the building and fire in the attic.

Crews extinguished the fire within 10 minutes, but KFD says the home suffered heavy fire, water and smoke damage. One female occupant and her two cats were displaced, as well as one family in the adjacent unit. KFD says the American Red Cross is assisting the displaced families. No injuries from the fire were reported. The unit had working smoke alarms, which alerted the female to the fire. She says she was asleep at the time of the fire and the smoke alarms woke her up. The Knoxville Fire Departmentโ€™s Fire Investigations unit is on scene and is working to determine the cause.
