VIDEO: A member of the Hendersonville Fire Department was recognized last week for saving a manโs life at a Tennessee Titans preseason game while off-duty back in August.
On Aug. 22, HFD Senior Firefighter Corey Shelton sprung into action when a man suddenly collapsed in the concourse of Nissan Stadium.
Shelton wasnโt even supposed to be there. He said the tickets were a last minute decision, he and his family were running late to the game, and they originally walked to the wrong side of the stadium. However, fate is funny like that.
โKick-off happens, weโre trying to get [to our seats], I go to the bathroom, run into the bathroom, and then my wife hollers my nameโฆand thereโs this guy, he just falls out right in front of us,โ explained Shelton. โโฆI immediately go over and start checking him and assessing him and trying to figure out whatโs going on. [He had] no pulse, agonal respirations, and so we started CPR.โ
