VIDEO: WSMV4 has obtained bodycam footage from a fire that destroyed a familyโs home in Spring Hill in late August. While the home on the 600 block of Charles Lane was lost, the family of four escaped alive.
The father was called a hero for getting his family out before first responders arrived and returning into the burning home to rescue his son after realizing the boy had become separated from the family in the smoke. The family suffered smoke inhalation, and the father was treated for serious burns. Investigators believe the fire was accidental. Firefighters said the fire started at about 4 a.m., possibly on the back deck of the familyโs house.
