Firefighters save Harrison homeowner after automatic fire alarm set off

A Harrison homeowner is lucky to be alive after an automatic fire alarm alerted volunteer firefighters to smoke inside a home. Just before 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning, firefighters with the Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at a home on Bramlett Lane, according to the Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management.

A moderate amount of smoke was inside the home, and no one was answering the door. Crews forced entry and found the homeowner unresponsive as a fire smoldered on the stove. They rendered aid until Hamilton County EMS arrived to take the person to the hospital in “good condition.” Fortunately, the fire did not spread. The only damage sustained was to the pot on the stove and some small cooking materials next to it. Firefighters ventilated the smoke and secured the home before returning to service.
