Firefighters rescue driver from car dangling over steep embankment after Maury County crash

Firefighters rescued a driver from a car dangling over a steep embankment in Maury County over the weekend. The crash happened at about 7 p.m. Sunday along Theta Pike, according to the Maury County Fire Department.

Responding firefighters found a red Mustang โ€œresting precariously on a steep embankment, barely held by a small tree.โ€ The emergency responders had to remove both of the carโ€™s front doors to rescue the driver inside.

They then used โ€œa rope systemโ€ to pull the vehicle back up onto the roadway. The driver was hospitalized and is expected to survive.
