VIDEO/PHOTOS: A fire investigation is underway at a Chattanooga concrete plant on Monday. It happened at the Buzzi Unicem USA plant in the 1200 block of Suck Creek Road shortly before 2:30 p.m.
A spokesperson for the company said smoke was seen coming from a building that is used to store tire fuel. After infrared technology alerted workers of the fire, the Chattanooga Fire Department was called to the scene and got the blaze under control. “I want to thank all of the emergency responders and our plant personnel for their quick action in getting the fire under control and keeping everyone safe,” Clark Mitchell, plant manager, said. “We value our relationship with the local community and will take appropriate additional steps to help minimize the risk of something like this from happening again.”
