Portsmouth firefighters successfully contained a brush fire on Anthony Road Monday morning, preventing it from spreading to nearby homes. At 11:13 a.m., Portsmouth Fire Department crews responded to Anthony Road in the Common Fence Point neighborhood for a reported brush fire. Upon arrival, firefighters were able to quickly contain the blaze before it could reach surrounding residential properties. The incident required mutual aid assistance from several regional fire departments. Tiverton Firefighters Local 1703, Bristol Fire Department-RI, and Newport Navy IAFF F-100 all provided support during the emergency response.
